This service is operated by 4SUCCESS, LLC, located in Los Angeles, CA.
What LockUnlocked is
LockUnlocked is a platform that connects customers with locksmith professionals. The contract for the actual locksmith work is between you and the locksmith.
Locksmith license and client notifications
Locksmiths who join the network must provide a California locksmith license or registration number in a valid format. The number is collected so customers can see what the locksmith entered and may verify it themselves using official public resources; LockUnlocked does not verify license status with BSIS or the DCA on locksmiths' or customers' behalf. We may review listings for fraud prevention in general but that is not a state license certification. When a locksmith confirms your job, if you opted in to SMS we may send you a text with their name, phone number, the license number they provided, and a link to the California Department of Consumer Affairs public search for your optional use.
SMS text message program
Brand: LockUnlocked (operated by 4SUCCESS, LLC). Messages are sent using Twilio or similar carriers; delivery is not guaranteed.
How you opt in to SMS: SMS is optional and separate from agreeing to our legal terms. On the public request page (request.html) or the locksmith registration page (become-a-locksmith.html), you must check the required box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before you can submit — that agreement covers use of the site and service, not SMS by itself. Agreeing to Terms and Privacy does not subscribe you to text messages. If you want transactional texts from LockUnlocked, you must separately check a second, clearly labeled optional box (unchecked by default) that states message types, frequency, rates, and STOP/HELP. You can submit the form without checking the SMS box; we will still process your request or registration and may contact you by phone or email as applicable.
Exact optional-SMS consent (A2P 10DLC registry)
The following single statement is what we register with carriers as the consumer-facing SMS opt-in; it matches the optional checkbox intent on both forms (each form shows a shorter, non-contradictory version of the same program):
Optional — SMS from LockUnlocked: If checked, you agree to receive transactional automated text messages at this number from LockUnlocked — on the customer request form (https://lockunlocked.com/request.html), about your service request (confirmations, updates, cancel link); on the locksmith registration form (https://lockunlocked.com/become-a-locksmith.html), about your account and locksmith jobs (welcome link, job alerts, updates). Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out; reply HELP for help. You can submit the form without checking this box; SMS is not required for service or registration. Terms: https://lockunlocked.com/terms.html Privacy: https://lockunlocked.com/privacy.html
What we send: Automated transactional and service-related texts only to numbers that opted in — for example: request received or cancelled; when a job is assigned or updated; the license number the locksmith provided and a link to a public license lookup for your optional self-check, as described above; after a locksmith confirms your job, a customer protection message with a secure reopen link; for new locksmiths who opted in, one welcome text with your dashboard link (we also email the same link); job alerts for locksmiths who opted in; or operational messages needed to run the platform. Message content may include links (for example to your order, dashboard, cancel link, reopen link, or public license lookup).
Disclosure on each text: Every outbound programmatic SMS from our program number ends with this line (or equivalent): Msg&data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your activity (typically a small number of messages per request or job; locksmiths may receive more when leads are active in their area).
Cost: Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan with your carrier.
Opt out and help: Reply STOP (or supported keywords such as STOPALL, CANCEL, END, UNSUBSCRIBE) to cancel SMS from LockUnlocked to your number; our Twilio Messaging Service processes standard opt-out keywords. Reply HELP for a one-time automated reply. That HELP reply is substantially:
LockUnlocked: Transactional SMS help — we only text numbers that opted in on lockunlocked.com. Questions: https://lockunlocked.com/contact.html Terms: https://lockunlocked.com/terms.html Privacy: https://lockunlocked.com/privacy.html. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
You may also use the contact form for questions about messaging or your account.
Mobile data sharing: No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Payments
Customers pay locksmiths directly for locksmith work. LockUnlocked does not collect payment from you for the locksmith's labor through this website unless we clearly state otherwise on a specific page.
Locksmiths may subscribe to access leads in their area. Subscription billing is handled by Stripe under separate checkout terms. Failure to pay may suspend platform access.
Customer protection and reopen
After a locksmith confirms your job on the platform, we may send you a transactional message (if you opted in to SMS) with a secure link to reopen the same request if the locksmith does not arrive, stops responding, or changes the agreed price. Reopen is available only while the job is in a confirmed state eligible under our system rules — not after the job is completed or cancelled.
When you successfully reopen, the job returns to the pool for other locksmiths in your area. The locksmith who had confirmed is blocked from receiving that same job again. You do not need to submit a brand-new request form for that cycle. You may receive a new protection link if another locksmith confirms.
We may limit repeated reopens on a single job or flag it for manual review. Reopen reasons you select are logged. For locksmiths, serious reopen reasons may count toward platform accountability measures (including suspension after repeated strikes) as we enforce network quality. Details may change as we improve the program; material changes will be reflected in these Terms.
User content
If you upload photos or text with a request, you represent that you have the right to share that content and that it is relevant to the job. You must not upload illegal, harassing, or unrelated material. We may remove content and suspend access for abuse.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
LockUnlocked provides a matching platform only. We do not perform locksmith work, set final prices, guarantee arrival times, or guarantee outcomes. Locksmiths are independent professionals; your agreement with them governs the work. To the fullest extent permitted by law, 4SUCCESS, LLC and LockUnlocked are not liable for acts or omissions of locksmiths, disputes over price or quality, property damage, or indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the site. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes should first be raised through our contact form.
Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date shows the current version. By continuing to use the site after changes are posted, you agree to the updated Terms for new use.
