4SUCCESS, LLC (“we”, “us”) operates LockUnlocked. We use your information only to run the platform and connect customers with locksmiths in Los Angeles County.
What we collect
Customers: When you submit a request — service type, ZIP code, phone number, description, and optional photos (see below). We may use device location if you allow it, to help match you with a nearby locksmith.
Locksmiths: Name, phone, ZIP, email, service area, and California locksmith license or registration number (required). That number is shown to customers so they may verify it using public state resources; we do not certify license status with BSIS or the California DCA.
Customer protection (reopen): If you use the secure reopen link after a locksmith has confirmed your job, we collect the reason you select, timestamps, and technical data needed to validate the link (job ID and token). We log reopens for operations, fraud prevention, and locksmith accountability as described in our Terms of Service.
Photos on requests
You may attach up to 2 photos when submitting a request (size limits are shown on the form). Photos help locksmiths assess the job before calling. Files are stored in Google Drive (or equivalent cloud storage we use for operations) and linked to your job record in Google Sheets. Locksmiths who can view your job in our system may see these files for that request only. Do not upload content you do not have the right to share, or sensitive information unrelated to the locksmith job.
How we use information
We use data to display requests to locksmiths in your area, manage job status (including accept, confirm, cancel, reopen, and complete), send optional transactional SMS, process locksmith subscriptions, prevent abuse, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
SMS notifications
If you choose the optional SMS opt-in on our forms, we may send transactional texts (e.g., request received or cancelled; when a locksmith confirms; customer protection link after confirm). Confirmation SMS may include a cancel link. When a locksmith confirms, a message may include their name, phone, license number on file, and a link to the California DCA public search. Locksmiths who opt in may receive job alerts and a one-time welcome text (we also email dashboard links). If you do not opt in, we will not send programmatic texts to your number for that submission. Messaging uses Twilio. Message and data rates may apply; frequency varies. Each outbound SMS includes a short rates/STOP/HELP line. Required form checkboxes are for Terms and this policy only — not SMS enrollment. See Terms for registry language and HELP/STOP behavior.
Payments
Customers pay locksmiths directly for work; we do not process your card for the locksmith service through LockUnlocked.
Locksmith subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We store subscription status and period, not your full card number. Stripe’s policy applies: stripe.com/privacy.
Where we store data
Operational data (requests, locksmiths, logs including reopen events) are stored in Google Workspace (Sheets, Drive, and related tools). Access is limited to operating the platform. Service providers (e.g., Twilio, Stripe, Google, reCAPTCHA on forms) process data only as needed to provide their services to us.
Retention
We keep job and account records for as long as needed to operate the platform, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and prevent fraud — typically for multiple years unless a shorter period is required by law or you ask us to delete information we can remove without breaking legitimate business or legal needs. Reopen logs and strike-related records for locksmiths may be kept for accountability after a job is closed.
Security
Reopen links use a unique token per job. Do not share your protection or cancel links publicly. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures; no online system is perfectly secure.
Your California privacy rights
California residents may request access to or deletion of personal information we hold, subject to exceptions (e.g., completing transactions, security, legal compliance). To exercise rights or ask questions, use our contact form and describe your request. We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA for monetary consideration.
Children
LockUnlocked is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy for new activity.
