How it works
LockUnlocked connects you with locksmith professionals in Los Angeles County. We operate the matching platform; the locksmith performs the work and sets the price with you directly.
Submit your request
On Request Locksmith enter your ZIP, phone, service type, and a short description. You may optionally add photos or short videos (up to four files) so locksmiths understand the situation before they call. Agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy to submit. SMS is optional and separate — see FAQ.
Local locksmiths see your job
We route by ZIP. Active locksmiths covering your area can view and accept your request. You are not routed to a national call center — nearby pros on the platform decide whether to take the job.
A locksmith calls you
After someone accepts, they contact you by phone to confirm details, timing, and pricing expectations. Ask questions before they drive. Our pricing page explains typical ranges; the final price for the work is between you and the locksmith.
They confirm on the platform
When the locksmith confirms your job in their dashboard, the job is locked in on our side. If you opted in to SMS, you may receive a text with their name, phone number, the license number they provided, and a link to the California DCA public license search for your optional check — we validate format only, not state license status. You also receive a customer protection message with a personal link (see step 6).
Cancel an open request anytime
If your plans change before the job is finished, use the cancel link in your confirmation SMS (if you opted in) or follow Cancel your order. That applies while the request is still open — not after the locksmith has already completed the work on site.
Customer protection after confirm
If a locksmith has confirmed but then does not arrive, stops responding, or tries to change the agreed price, use the secure reopen link from your protection SMS (not a new request form). Your same job goes back to other available locksmiths in your area; the locksmith who confirmed is excluded from that job. You may go through accept → confirm → protection again if another pro confirms. See FAQ and our Terms for details.
You pay the locksmith directly
LockUnlocked does not charge you a platform fee on top of the locksmith’s price. Payment for the actual work is between you and the technician unless you agree otherwise with them.
